HCA & Carers Ireland Conference
Following on from last year’s successful conference, we are delighted to be able to confirm that this year’s conference will take place on Thursday November 22nd from 9am to 5pm in the fabulous CityNorth Hotel on the M1.

Last year’s conference was a huge success with over 450 attendees! Our first conference held exclusively for Health Care Assistant/Carers. It highlighted and generated some interesting discussion on the issues that are of concern in the many different care settings in Ireland.

In Ireland there are over 60,000 professional Health Care Assistants/Carers and we want this year’s conference to be even bigger and better. We will have a wide range of speakers from government, state institutions, sector stakeholders and of course Health Care assistant/Carers themselves.

Health Care Assistants/Carers
Health Care Assistants/Carers play a vital role in our health sector but their contribution is often undervalued and not fully recognised. The recent ERSI report into the future needs of healthcare workers, highlighted that it was amongst Health Care Assistants/Carers where we would face the biggest increase in demand. A staggering 54% increase. In addition, the Department of Health’s own Health Service Capacity Review recommends and 50% increase in the primary care workforce.

Hospitals, Home Care, Nursing Homes, Residential, Hospice Care staff and other settings have never been in such demand, time to look at why there is a demand!
We want this year’s conference to begin to address these issues and to celebrate the important role Carers/Health Care Assistants carry out and to highlight that caring is a
worthwhile career that needs to be properly remunerated with clear career pathways open for Carers and Health Care Assistants.
The event has opportunities for sponsorship if you would like to know more:
